Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones emlawn uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
Last updated: October 31, 2026The short version
- Essential cookies keep your cart and checkout working
- Analytics and ad cookies only run if you allow them
- You can change your choice at any time
- We never use cookies to sell your data
01 What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer or phone when you visit. They let the site remember things, such as what's in your cart or whether you're signed in, between pages and visits.
We also use similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.
02 Why we use cookies
We group our cookies into four types:
- Essential: needed for the cart, checkout, account and security. These are always on.
- Preferences: remember choices like recently viewed products.
- Analytics: help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
- Advertising: help us measure whether our ads work.
Except for essential cookies, we only set these where you've given permission through our cookie banner, or where the law allows.
03 Essential cookies Always on
These cookies make the store work. Without them, you couldn't add products to your cart, check out or sign in. They don't track you across other websites.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
wp_woocommerce_session_* | Keeps your cart and checkout session | 2 days |
woocommerce_cart_hash | Tracks changes to your cart | Session |
woocommerce_items_in_cart | Remembers that your cart has items | Session |
wordpress_logged_in_* | Keeps you signed in to your account | Session or 14 days if "Remember me" |
wordpress_sec_* | Secures your signed-in session | Session or 14 days |
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks your browser accepts cookies | Session |
Cookie consent cookie | Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask again | Up to 1 year |
04 Preference cookies Optional
These remember your choices to make browsing easier.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
woocommerce_recently_viewed | Shows products you've recently looked at | Session |
wp-settings-* | Remembers display preferences for signed-in users | 1 year |
05 Analytics cookies Optional
These help us see which pages are popular, how visitors find us and where the site could be better. The information is collected in aggregate and isn't used to identify you personally.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics: distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics: keeps track of your session | 2 years |
Google's own policy explains how it uses this data: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
06 Advertising cookies Optional
These let us measure whether our ads lead to visits and purchases, and may be used to show you relevant emlawn ads on other sites. They're set by our advertising partners and only run if you allow advertising cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta (Facebook) Pixel: measures ad performance | 3 months |
_gcl_au | Google Ads: measures conversions from ads | 3 months |
07 Managing your cookies
Our cookie banner
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, decline optional ones, or choose by category. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link or icon on our website.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Here's how in the most common browsers:
If you block essential cookies, your cart, checkout and account won't work properly.
